Beautiful Day In Toronto

Day 10:  Our Last Day in Toronto

Fall Vegetables

CN Tower

U of Toronto Campus

Plundered Risotto
We have a very helpful and generous host at the Baldwin House in Toronto.  When I made our reservation a couple of months ago, I did not realize how close it was to the things we wanted to do.  Until this evening, the car has been parked since we got here.  We started the day by going to a farmers market called Indulge.  Very professional, lots of produce, flowers, baked goods and value-added items.  A stage for music and three or four vendors with food included pea pork sandwiches.  We then went on a boat ride to the islands just off shore from downtown with beautiful views of the city and the CN Tower.  Then we briefly explored the underground city, came back to our BB and went on a hike to explore the University of Toronto campus.  Mostly we walked by and through some of the older buildings and the new library which holds some very old manuscripts including an ancient tablet.  This evening we went to a higher end restaurant which sources most of its food locally.  It is called Global/Earth and its byline is "Eat local, think global."  That should remind you of Hale's Ales slogan.  We ordered 7 items from their menu (not including drinks).  The multigrain risotto was wonderful.  On to Montreal tomorrow.
